A veterinary assistant is someone who works under the direction of a veterinarian, laboratory animal technologist or scientist to help with administrative and non-medical care of pets and non-farm animals such as cats, rabbits, dogs, ferrets, and birds. The veterinary assistant is responsible for providing care such as feeding, cleaning, giving water and administering medication to animals in veterinary offices, zoos, laboratories, or animal hospitals.
Necessary requirements: Graduation from High School (or equivalent), and graduation from an approved Veterinary Assistant program within the last 5 years.

1-year verifiable work experience as a Veterinary Assistant professional.
